ABOUT CHICO HISTORY MUSEUM

Housed in the historic Andrew Carnegie Library located in the heart of downtown Chico, and immediately adjacent to the California State University campus, Chico Museum has provided the greater Chico community with memorable exhibits since 1986. Since its opening, the museum has served as a classroom for thousands of area children as well as a reflective resource for adults seeking knowledge of all things Chico.

The museum’s Carnegie and McIntyre Galleries have hosted extensive exhibits celebrating the distinct heritage of Chico and its sphere of influence. Exhibits change throughout the year and offer a wide variety of topics ranging from the history of Chico Through Time. Permanent displays, include the Mechoopda Exhibit, The Bidwells, the Chico Chinese Temple, Chico's natural wonders, and a topographic map of Northern California.
